First impressions: Tanya Burr lip gloss and nails collection

Hello lovely readers,

This post is long overdue as i received the products that i am going to write about a few weeks ago now. oopsy i do apologise, so yeah lets dive right in.When i found out that Tanya Burr had brought out her own range of makeup products i was really exited as i have been watching her videos on youtube for quite a while now. I ordered one product from each of her collections, so one nail polish and one lip-gloss. I ordered them straight away because i had been waiting a long time for her products to become available. i got them from Feel Unique as that's the only place that they are currently available. I didn't mind ordering them straight off line too much but with makeup i usually like to look at them in person first just to make sure because a lot of the time things photograph differently to what they look like in person. So yeah i'd never ordered from this website before and i must say i was so suppressed because they came in such a lovely little box, so well done to them for that!

Ill talk about the lip-gloss first. I was then surprised once again after opening the box as the lip-gloss had its own little packaging, I thought it would just be loose in the box. To be honest i'm not usually fond of products having more packaging than necessary, but the sleeve that it came in was very informative about the product and it did look quite sleek and nice so ill let this one off.

So i ordered the colour 'afternoon tea' because i have been looking for a quite neutral pinky lip-gloss for quite a while now so this was a perfect choice for me. And may i just say all of the products in her line have adorable names so i may have also been slightly swayed by the name. The colour does look really similar to what it did on line so i was super happy about that. The applicator is a little bit different to a normal doe foot applicator as it is more flat but it is really nice and easy to use. The colour is really pretty on and highly pigmented. It does feel a little bit thick and gloopy on but i don't mind because that makes it feel like it will last longer. I have horrible dry patchy lips so lip colour usually never stays on and hopefully this one will. Heres what the product looks like on, excuse my disastrous lips and spotty chinplease.

Now on to the nail polish. I decided to order the colour 'Midnight Sparkles' because it looked so pretty on the picture and i am partial to a bit of glitter in my nail varnish. It also looks exactly like it does online so that was great! The bottle is nothing special but it is a nice size and its definitely functional. I don't mind that the bottle has no thrills because i love the product. One thing i will say though is that it looks a lot more sparkly in the bottle than it does on your nails. Despite that it is really pretty on, as at a glance it just looks like a lovely deep purple but at a closer look you can see the bits of sparkle. I like that because it will work for every day but it still adds a bit of glam for a night out.

Overall i really like the products from Tanya Burr although i feel they are slightly overpriced but hopefully if the products become successful enough they might lower in price. I am loving these two products and i look forward to trying out more in the future.

I hope this helped out if you are trying to decide weather to try her products out. I definitely recommend you do, and if you don't know who Tanya Burr is and you like makeup why not give some of her videos on her youtube channel a watch by clicking here

Current Barry M favourites

i received a lot of Barry M nail varnishes for christmas which i was very pleased about as nail varnishes are always a winner with me. i managed to decide on 3 favourites and thought i'd make a blog post about them.

1. Barry M Matte- Espresso 347: I've been loving this nail polish a lot at the moment. It's a black colour from the new range of matte nail varnishes that barry m have recently brought out. I was looking for a matte nail varnish for ages so i was so pleased when my best friend Candice bought me one for christmas. I was slightly skeptical the first time that i tried it and i thought that it might leave a horrible chalk board sort of texture on my nails. Thank god it didn't, the feel that it has is actually smooth and rather pleasant. I would definitely recommend this if you are on the hunt for a good matte nail varnish as i love it and is a really good price usually selling at £3.99

2. Superdrug Limited Edition-E348: I decided to include this glitter polish as i am partial to a bit of glitter every now and again. Unfortunately it was a limited edition for christmas at Superdrug but i'm sure there will be some good dupes out there. Barry M pink silver glitter or Models own Northern Lights-Wonderland should give a pretty similar look. I love the pretty pink sparkle it gives and the sheer pink undertone that it has. It is the perfect combination of glitter and subtlety, my mum even loved it and borrowed some to wear for the festive season and she's not usually the nail varnish type. I think this nail varnish looks great on its own but for an extra bit of snazz it looks fantastic over a contrasting colour. Im not sure how much this was as it was a christmas gift from my boyfriend, but you can pick up normal Barry M glitter polishes for a right bargin at just £2.99

3. Blue Moon-317/333: I chose this nail varnish to be in my favourites as i absolutely love this colour i like it so much that my bedside cabinets are the same shade of blue. This pale pastel blue is so pretty and girly it really is the perfect colour, its not to pale and not too bright. The photo that i took doesn't really give it justice but believe me its really nice. When i first looked at it in the bottle i thought it had a darker blue sheen but when i put it on i realised that it doesn't but i don't mind that, i like it how it is. This was also a gift from my boyfriend but after some research iv'e found that it costs around only £2.99.  i think this will be my staple nail colour this year!

I hope you liked my current Barry M faves and hope this has inspired you to try out some new colours. what are your current nail varnish faves? im always on the look out for new colours to try, id love to know in the comments
