Don't twirl arround with your eyes closed! (ootd)

Heyllo, (thats what i say whey i go to say hey but realise i'm supposed to act professionally then change to hello)

So for the past few weeks i haven't posted much because iv'e been trying to get uni work done. Im not there yet but i'm slowly catching up so i have a tiny bit more time. Anyways i wanted to do an outfit of the day post today because 1. I haven't done a fashioney blog post yet and 2. I wore a new dress and i thought it was SO cool because when i twirl around (a regular occurrence in my life) i look like a cake (or ballerina)... :')

okay so here is me wearing the dress, i'm super bad at taking photos of myself and them looking okay so this is the best i could do.So yeah Its a smock dress so its super comfy, i'm really loving the look of smock dresses lately because they have a really different slouchy style that looks great for any occasion. I only went to uni today so i didn't really dress it up or anything, I just wore it with an interesting old chain that I found on my jewellery rack. Its by George at Asda which is a bit random but they have upped their game lately, or at least i think so anyways! And it was a bargin at only £10

I wore the dress with come super thick thermal tights from Primark and my black every day shoes that look like little kids shoes from Red or Dead (I love them!)

I then wanted to twirl around and had a bit too much fin and ended up falling over aha heres a sequence shot of that to make you laugh the last one gets me every time pahahah :') aha i'm such a goon!

:''')

I hope this was okay for a first attempt at a super quick fashion style post. i hope you enjoyed it.
Let me know any tips you have on better twirling down in the comments!

First impressions: Tanya Burr lip gloss and nails collection

Hello lovely readers,

This post is long overdue as i received the products that i am going to write about a few weeks ago now. oopsy i do apologise, so yeah lets dive right in.When i found out that Tanya Burr had brought out her own range of makeup products i was really exited as i have been watching her videos on youtube for quite a while now. I ordered one product from each of her collections, so one nail polish and one lip-gloss. I ordered them straight away because i had been waiting a long time for her products to become available. i got them from Feel Unique as that's the only place that they are currently available. I didn't mind ordering them straight off line too much but with makeup i usually like to look at them in person first just to make sure because a lot of the time things photograph differently to what they look like in person. So yeah i'd never ordered from this website before and i must say i was so suppressed because they came in such a lovely little box, so well done to them for that!

Ill talk about the lip-gloss first. I was then surprised once again after opening the box as the lip-gloss had its own little packaging, I thought it would just be loose in the box. To be honest i'm not usually fond of products having more packaging than necessary, but the sleeve that it came in was very informative about the product and it did look quite sleek and nice so ill let this one off.

Tanya Burr Lip-gloss in "afternoon tea"

So i ordered the colour 'afternoon tea' because i have been looking for a quite neutral pinky lip-gloss for quite a while now so this was a perfect choice for me. And may i just say all of the products in her line have adorable names so i may have also been slightly swayed by the name. The colour does look really similar to what it did on line so i was super happy about that. The applicator is a little bit different to a normal doe foot applicator as it is more flat but it is really nice and easy to use. The colour is really pretty on and highly pigmented. It does feel a little bit thick and gloopy on but i don't mind because that makes it feel like it will last longer. I have horrible dry patchy lips so lip colour usually never stays on and hopefully this one will. Heres what the product looks like on, excuse my disastrous lips and spotty chinplease.

Now on to the nail polish. I decided to order the colour 'Midnight Sparkles' because it looked so pretty on the picture and i am partial to a bit of glitter in my nail varnish. It also looks exactly like it does online so that was great! The bottle is nothing special but it is a nice size and its definitely functional. I don't mind that the bottle has no thrills because i love the product. One thing i will say though is that it looks a lot more sparkly in the bottle than it does on your nails. Despite that it is really pretty on, as at a glance it just looks like a lovely deep purple but at a closer look you can see the bits of sparkle. I like that because it will work for every day but it still adds a bit of glam for a night out.

Overall i really like the products from Tanya Burr although i feel they are slightly overpriced but hopefully if the products become successful enough they might lower in price. I am loving these two products and i look forward to trying out more in the future.

I hope this helped out if you are trying to decide weather to try her products out. I definitely recommend you do, and if you don't know who Tanya Burr is and you like makeup why not give some of her videos on her youtube channel a watch by clicking here

Week off and back to Uni

This is just a little random life up date post for a bit of a change. :) I’ve been on a mini break from uni, just for a week :( but its been a lovely little rest after a pretty stressful hand in day. The week off was supposed to be a reading week, and to be fair I did do quite bit of reading and research but I also got up to some fun things with friends! I thought id write about some of them and post some pictures.

As we broke up on the Thursday I had a nice long weekend to relax and chill out. Work free! (It felt strange to have no uni work for the weekend) I decided to go round to my friend Zade's house after spending the afternoon with her in town. It was really nice to meet her family and put faces to all of the lovely, funny stories that i get told most days over lunch. Her dad was hilarious he comes out with some right corkers, plus he makes a mean burger. So anyways we chatted, laughed, watched you tube and A LOT of adventure time. I had a really nice time. (I was going to put a nice photo of us up on here but I realised that we're rubbish and the only photo that I have of us together is from Halloween... we look mental.) Oh well ill put it up anyways! By the way I was just a grey person don't ask :')

Me and Zade looking mental at halloween..

Later in the week I went to Newcastle with my friend Glenn for a Cultural artsy day as recommended by out teachers. Although I’m pretty sure they didn't recommend getting lost a lot and eating at a world buffet for about two hours but those were the funniest parts. Before we got into Newcastle we stopped off at the Baltic art gallery. There were actually some pretty cool exhibitions on so they were nice to have a gander at. After that we decided to find free or super cheap parking, as were poor students. This resulted in us driving around and accidentally stumbling across a Tesco car park over the river. Slightly problematic as there was a rather large body of water in between us and Newcastle. In the end we gave up and drove into the city and spent a lot on parking. The first port of call was a comic shop; on the way we saw a china town sign and couldn't resist it so we took a detour to be nosey. Here is a photo of the Chinese arch thing

Arch in china town Newcastle

So off to the comic shop we went, we got told it was good for zines and Nobrow publications and so it was! I would have bought all of the pretty books if I could. Anyways there was a girl in there that got a bit too exited about the anime it was quite amusing, she even apologised for herself. :') After looking in the comic shop we went to look for somewhere to eat so we found a world food buffet and spent a bit too long in there but it was AMAZING! I do recommend it if your stuck for something to eat in Newcastle :) we were too stuffed and it was getting a bit late to do much more after that, so we got back in the car and headed off home. We stopped off at the biscuit factory, a cute little artsy shop thing, on the way and it was lovely to look at all of the paintings and sculptures, I even got an illustrated children's book. It’s so cute!

A bit of a blurry photo of me in the comic shop :)

The amazing Buffet with food from all over the world

So yeah at the end of the week I went to see my friend Candice in Washington I had a nice little shopping afternoon with her, a well needed catch up and a chilled night with good old Saturday night TV.
And that was my week off over :(. Back to my little messy desk or as some people call it the Mel cave :') Here are some photos, say hello to my desk it will probably feature a lot in my blog its my home away from home.

My desk is a mess but i love it and wouldn't have it any other way

Close up of some cute things that i see right in front of me.

My working mess :)
So yeah I hope you liked this post sorry its a bit long I always get carried away and write WAY too much... oh well. I hope you enjoyed it anyways

Thanks a lot
